Why I am proud of my country.

Are you proud of your country?

Author’s note: Think about this are you proud of your country for what we’ve accomplished, or how all the men and women in the military have done so much for their country? Because I know I do. I am proud of my country.

I am proud of my country. Why, because we have freedom, freedom of speech, a good army and independence.  On the 4th of July we celebrate our country being independent. In 1776, July 4 we became independent. Not having to be a part of another country but being independent. That is why I am proud of my country.

Are you ever thankful? Just ask yourself that are you? Well I am because we have freedom, freedom of speech, independence and a great army. And no matter what happens we should just always be thankful and even being proud for what we have.

The United States is lucky to have freedom, because in other countries they don’t. While we have freedom, other countries have slavery and wars going on. Although we have wars they don’t take place here. Any country would be fortunate to have an army like ours. The U.S Military protects our country so we can have freedom and independence.

Another reason why I am proud of my country is because men and women are allowed to vote. In some countries men are only allowed to, and in others nobody is allowed to vote. The people of the US are able to say what they want to say. We are able to say whatever because we have freedom of speech. In most countries they don’t have that. These are all the reasons I am proud of my country.

I am so grateful of my country. And just ask yourself, why are you proud of you country. There could be a thousand ways why you are proud of your country.

Wonders about the peacock.

Authors note: I've had some problems with coming up with a topic. First I had peacocks. Then I had the topic fall, next was itouch. I just couldn't come up with a topic to write about. But I went back to peacocks. I just felt that they were really exciting to learn about.

There are so many fascinating different types of animals in India. One of them is the peacocks. Peacocks are mainly found in India, because of that they are their national bird. Peacocks are the most beautiful birds in the world.

They have many physical characteristics. But one helps them from predators and that is to be able to fly up into a tree. Also for males with their colors they can camouflage. The great thing about being a peacock is that all of their predators can’t fly, because they are a like tiger, jungle cat or a leopard, etc. So they wouldn’t be able to reach them way up in the trees. While a female’s feathers help her because, she can blend in with the bushes so she can protect herself and her babies.

Peacocks are omnivore. This means they eat meat and plants. They will eat plants, seeds, insects, and small creatures. They usually travel in a group which is probably how they hunt for their food. They have a dairy routine every day; they eat early in the morning or just before sunset. Every night they sleep in a large group in some tall, open trees. Because of them doing that it helps they protect each other from predators.

Peacocks weigh 8.75 to 13lbs. While their body length is 35 to 50 inches long, and the peacock’s tail feathers spread out more than half of the bird. With that a peacock’s body with the train is 5 feet long. Meanwhile the male’s feathers are more of the blues and greens.  Although female’s feathers are more of a brown color. There are three types of male peacock: Indian, congo and green peafowl. A peacock is an extremely unique animal.

They are the pretties animals in the world. The only thing that is quit weird about them, is when they are calling each other it sounds like they are saying help, help (in a high pitch voice).
