Deadly Little Secret

Author's note: For Reading Lab we had to write and tell about a book we read. This had to be a retelling.

Author: Laurie Faria Stolarz
Genre: Mystery, romance, and suspense

Camelia lives a somewhat ordinary life; she has two best friends; a job, and loving parents. But when there’s a mysterious new guy named Ben, who is starting junior year at the same high school as Camelia, her live becomes far from ordinary.
On one afternoon when Camelia was in the school parking lot a car came out of know where and almost killed her. But luckily for her Ben was there and pushed her out of the way.

At the beginning of the year Camelia was receiving mysterious notes, photos and phone calls. Some of the notes said that she should watch her back, or I’ll be watching you at all times. And later on someone breaks into her room and vandalizes it.
And Ben knows something is up, because he’s psychometric, which is the ability to sense the future through touch.
“A cloud of rumors swirl around Ben’s arrival.” He’s accused of killing his girlfriend, and no one is happy that he is there. Yet Camelia is drawn to Ben because of when he saved her life. So as she gets to know him and spend more time with him the stalking escalates, “Camelia doesn’t know who to trust. “

I liked this book because there wasn’t too much going on, so you could understand what was going on. Also because there was a lot of detail and so you could picture things in your mind.
