Thank You

Author's Note: This is alternet ending to the piece "Thank You Ma'am". I choose to do it on whent Roger comes back to say thank you.

At the same time as Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones shut the door Rodger stood there just looking at the door, making a memory in his brain. A memory of what her door looked like, and the building, so he could come back and visit her again. When Roger first met Mrs. Jones he hated her but, in the end her started to like her because of what she did of him.
As their lives went on Roger decided to go back a visit Mrs. Jones since he never got to say thank you for what she did and gave him. So the next day Roger head out to and remember what her building looks like. Once he got there he knocked on the door and asked for Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones. When Roger first saw her there he couldn’t believe it, she looked so different. At first it was a little awkward between them but, after a while they just kept on talking. The first thing Roger said to Mrs. Jones was thank you. Mrs. Jones was all confused she didn’t know what was going on.
“I’m sorry, what are you saying thank you for?” Asked Mrs. Jones
“For the lesson you taught me and the money, you know when you brought me to you house.” Replied Roger
“Oh yes of course, I’m happy to help. And the lesson did it help you?” Asked Mrs. Jones
“Um, yes it did.” Said Roger
“Good, so how have you been, what have you been up to?” She asked, as she made some lunch.
“I’ve been good the usual, just got a job a few months ago and you?”
“I’ve been great and still working here throughout the years.”
They continued talking until Roger had to leave. And from that day on Roger went back every month to visit  Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones, and they would just talk for hours until the day ended.
I choose this ending because Roger was being taught a lesson form Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones and he never got to say thank you. So I decided to do a ending where Roger goes back to and visit and say thank you.

The Golden Hook

Authors Note: In the writing lab we read a story and didn’t finish it completely. So we had to come up with a reasonable ending of what we think will happen.

A few months after Cody buried Clarence and took home the golden hook. He put it on the shelf right above his trophies in his room. A couple of days after he brought it home he realized that the hook was gone as if it vanished. He searched everywhere but it just didn’t show up. After a while Cody just stopped looking. He didn’t feel that bad since he took if from Clarence. Cody continued to look throughout the days but it still didn’t show up. After that he just stopped looking and caring. Then one day out of the blue the golden hook showed up, and through the days that it was missing Cody was having  karma and bad luck. He hadn’t realized it at first but then when the hook showed up it all seemed to disappear. While the hook was missing Cody kept on dropping some of his most valuable things or losing them. Since that was happening Cody couldn’t figure out why that kept on happening. Until one day later, he realized that he had never had karma before until those past days while the hook was missing. Since Cody didn’t want karma any more he decided to visit Clarence’s grave and return his golden hook. Once he returned the hook Cody’s life continued on and didn’t have any more bad luck.

Changing Personalities

Author’s Note: This piece is a character analyses. For my piece I am doing a bio poem. I choose  Mona from the “Pretty Little Liars” series. Throughout the series Mona has three different personalities.

Mona
Daughter of Mark and Joanne.
Lover of school, family.
Who feels happy when at school and cheerless when rejected by the popular girls at school.
Loved when with family.
Who gives a pleasant mood.
Who fears getting made fun of.
A resident of Rosewood, Pennsylvania.
Vanderwaal

Mona
Daughter of Mark and Joanne.
Lover of shopping, make-up, and friends.
Who feels happy when with friends.
Loved when with friends and family.
Who gives friendly advice and support.
Who fears losing her friend.
A resident of Rosewood, Pennsylvania.
Vanderwaal

Mona
Daughter of Mark and Joanne.
Lover of evil, making peoples life miserable, and playing cards.
Who feels safe in the clinic.
Loved when friends come to visit.
Who gives a bad scene to people.
Who fears of losing her friend, Hanna.
A resident of Rosewood, Pennsylvania.
Vanderwaal

In the end Mona is the way she is because Mona got sick and tired of her friend Hanna not listening and not being there for her. Also because Mona always got picked on and bullied by Hanna's friend Allison. So she goes against them and tries to get back at them for everything that Allison did to her.

Mona reminds me of Matt from the book “Deadly Little Secret”. In a way there are somewhat alike because in the beginning of each book they are both innocent and nice. And then comes the middle of the book and Mona turns into the popular girl and is snotty to everyone. While Matt is getting suspicious by the minute. Then comes the end of the book and Mona has turned into evil, she is trying to ruin everyone’s life. As Matt turns into the bad guy who tries to kidnap someone.

Our Founding Father

Author’s Note: This essay is for Patriots Pen. I wrote about  what I thought about them. If we wanted to we could choose to enter this into a contest.

Do you know who the founding fathers are? The fathers are George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, John Jay, and James Madison. Therefore if you had a chance to tell them what you thought about them what would you say? I would tell them that they were successful in forming our government, religion, and freedom.

In the year 1920 women of America were allowed to vote. If it wasn’t for the founders then men would only be the ones to vote. One reason why the  fathers were successful was in our government because of being able to vote. And without being able to vote then the people of America wouldn’t get a chance to elect who they want for president. Then there probably wouldn’t be demarcates and republicans.

Religion is a big part of the US, and without it then people today wouldn’t be who they are. Every Sunday there are people who go to church, Sunday school, or bible study. Almost every summer for one week my friend Molly and I participate in a bible school event. It’s called Vacation Bible School, and you do a bunch of religion activities such as; crafts, games, sings songs, plus more. This is one example of a religious activity.

If we didn’t have freedom then what would we have? Without it we very well could be slaves right now.
But since we do there’s so many possibilities as to what we can do. In July 4, 1776 the 13 colonies declared themselves independence from the English.

Maybe not everything the founding fathers did was successful. But overall they were doing well with our government, religion, and freedom. However if they didn’t exist then this country wouldn’t of been as successful as it is today.

What's the cause and effect?

The Hunger Games

Author’s Note: For reading lab we got to chosen if we wanted to write about a book or a really life situation. I chose to write about the The Huger Games (book). In this piece we had to explain the main event and what the effects were.

The main cause of the story is every year, once a year the Capitol holds the annul Hunger Games. Which is a games where one girl and one boy from each district get chosen randomly and, they have to compete against everybody. From district 12, Peeta and Prim were chosen. But Katniss didn’t want her little sister to go so, she took her place.

The effect of this story is when Katniss and Peeta win the Huger Games. They were the second people to win the Huger Games from their district. Normally there could only be one winner but, the Capitol let them both win. If this event didn’t happen then there would have been one winner or maybe even no winner. If that were the case then the whole ending of the story would have to change.

Have You Even Been Stalked?

Author's Note: We had to write a short responds to a cause and effect. I wrote about a book that I read last year so, see if you can look for my effect on the cause.

In the book Deadly Little Secret by Laurie Stolarz, the main conflict of the story is that Camelia is getting stalked. And this mysterious person was Matt, Camelia’s ex-boyfriend. Yet she doesn’t know who this person is or how closes they used to be. So during the book as Camelia is getting all of these strange phone calls, letters, pictures of herself, plus he broke into her room. The only reason as to why Matt did this was because he was mad at her and he wanted her all to himself. Towards the end of the book is where the conflict mainly happened. While Camelia and Matt were talking he handcuffed her wrists together and carried her to the trunk of his car. She tries to fight back but her smacks her across the jaw and knocks her out. And next thing she knows is that she wakes up and finds herself in a tiny room.

This conflict gets resolved by when Ben comes and finds Camelia and Matt fighting. So Ben starts to fight Matt and eventually he passed out. After that Ben called the police and Matt was taken away. And then Camelia never got another weird letter or phone call again.

Deadly Little Secret

Author's note: For Reading Lab we had to write and tell about a book we read. This had to be a retelling.

Author: Laurie Faria Stolarz
Genre: Mystery, romance, and suspense

Camelia lives a somewhat ordinary life; she has two best friends; a job, and loving parents. But when there’s a mysterious new guy named Ben, who is starting junior year at the same high school as Camelia, her live becomes far from ordinary.
On one afternoon when Camelia was in the school parking lot a car came out of know where and almost killed her. But luckily for her Ben was there and pushed her out of the way.

At the beginning of the year Camelia was receiving mysterious notes, photos and phone calls. Some of the notes said that she should watch her back, or I’ll be watching you at all times. And later on someone breaks into her room and vandalizes it.
And Ben knows something is up, because he’s psychometric, which is the ability to sense the future through touch.
“A cloud of rumors swirl around Ben’s arrival.” He’s accused of killing his girlfriend, and no one is happy that he is there. Yet Camelia is drawn to Ben because of when he saved her life. So as she gets to know him and spend more time with him the stalking escalates, “Camelia doesn’t know who to trust. “

I liked this book because there wasn’t too much going on, so you could understand what was going on. Also because there was a lot of detail and so you could picture things in your mind.

Olden Time Diary

Author's note: I wrote this like I lived in the olden time. I talked about how the boys are jousting in a big tournament.

Dear Diary,
Today is thy day, thy big jousting tournament. Where Master Charles and Master John will, I can’t wait until to see who will win thy big tournament. Right now I am in my room thy tallest room in the tower getting ready. While I was getting dressed I heard thy boys warming up.

I bid thou farewell,
Marabeth McKinns Lady Lord

Under The Sea- cliff hangers

Author"s note: This is a short story is about three kids have fun in the beach and one of them stumble upon a castle.

“Tweet” as the lifeguard blow his whistle telling everyone they can go back into the water. “sweet” yelled Taylor as she ran into the ocean water. “Hey who wants to play monkey in the middle”? asked  Alex. “Me” I said. “I call the middle” said Taylor. After playing the longest time with Taylor in the middle Alex finally got into the middle. Taylor throw the beach ball so far if want into the deep end. So as I was going to go get the ball I tripped on a rock and headed for the water. When I went head under I saw a tiny little bright sea horse, so I decided to follow it. As we got deeper and deeper I heard Taylor yelling “Summer, where did you go”? When we got just barely to the ocean floor where there was this pearly white castle with seashells around the windows and sand dollars for the door. And then suddenly the door opened...

Symbolism

This short story took place during the summer.
It was a summer night at the park.
There was a soft breeze on that warm summer night.
While at the park they saw stars covering the sky.
When you are at a park you would usually see green from trees and bushes.
If you have have ever been to a park at night you would probably see bats eating mosquitos.
This park was full of everygreens and dead trees and weeping willows.
This girl wante to see and or talk to her crush and he was in her brothers room.

Spring Assessment

I Hear Voices

For most people they don't hear voice but in the book Deadly Little Lies by Laurie Faria Stolarz, Camelia and her Aunt Alexia both have this ability to hear voices. Did you know that “up to 16 percent of mentally healthy children and teens may hear voices” in 2010 http://www.hearingvoicesnetworkanz.com/. While "one out of every three so-called "voice hearers" requires psychiatric help"- http://www.psychologytoday.com/. So if you hear voices and you think that what they are saying and are true doesn't mean that they are.

Throughout the book Camelia was getting mysterious phone calls, notes, plus she kept on hearing things in her head that she didn’t know what they meant. In addition during the book there would be these diaries by Aunt Alexia, as a child, and some of them would say how she was hearing voices. Also Aunt Alexia didn’t know what they meant either.

People can relate to this because maybe they have experienced this type of situation or they knew someone who has gone through this. If this were to happen to me or I did know someone I probably would have gone to a therapy/ tell them to go to therapy.

What I think the author was trying to tell was if you hear voices and what they are saying doesn't mean that they will always be true. So even “you’re dead” didn’t mean Camelia would have died.

If you can hear voices and you think they are true doesn’t mean that they are. So if you think you know what they mean but you really don’t, ask a friend or go talk to someone.

Do you really know your friends?

Author's note: Ask yourself it you want to be friends with this person. Becuase a friendship could start with a simple hand shake or a hello.

Throughout the book Deadly Little Secret, by Laurie Faria Stolarz Camelia was getting these strange notes, pictures, and gifts. It turns out that Matt was really following her around to the mall, the park for a date, pertty much everywhere. He would follow her around so much he knew how to get inside of her house and leave gifts in her room and outside of her window. So never trust anyone you don't know.

Make sure you really get to know your friends because you don’t want them to be like Matt where he abuses you. People can relate to this because someone may have had a friend, boyfriend, or girlfriend who has abuses them. The only reason he did that was because he was jealous of Ben and other guys.

In the end all Matt wanted was for Camelia to love him and for her to be his girlfriend again. The thing to remember is if you know anyone who has been abuesed tell an adult because they can do something about. If you know someone for a long it doesn't meanthat they aren't cameable of doing something like that. Also if you don't tell anyone and it keeps going on or keeps getting worse and it won't only affect that person it will affect you too.

Whatever happens never trust anyone you don't know. Also make sure you aren't in the middle of something like this. So make sure you tell.

The only one

Today you are You,
that is truer than true.
There is no one alive who is
you-er than you
   - Dr. Seuss

Author's note: This poem reminds me how you are one of a kind. Because "there is no one alive who is you-er than you." No matter what you do or how you do it, there will never be anyone like you.

Throughout the entire world there is no one like you. Just like every snowflake is different. There are billions of people and snowflakes on this planet, but none are exactly alike. This poem is just reminding that to you.

Sunset

Author's note: Have you ever seen a sunset? If you have you would know that they are very beautiful. Because they are very beautiful, I have decided to write a poem about it.

Each and everyday I rise
Waiting for the perect day to shine
Looking down on you having fun in the sun
But when the evening comes I draft away, for night to come.

Living life

Author’s note: This quote makes me wonder about a lot of things. Like how fun would it be to dance out in the rain. Or how do you ignore pain? When you read it think of all the questions that you can think of, or what comes to mind when reading?

This is one of my favorite quotes. When I first read this quote it reminded me about having fun and being a kid. How the author says laugh your heart out with friends and family, and cherish the memories, that you have with them.  People can relate to this quote because everyone forgets and everyone forgives at least once in their lives. It is true how you only have one life to live, so make the best of it.
